Friday, October 1st marked the beginning of the 23rd commemoration of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month (NDVAM). Across the Nation, domestic violence advocates, agencies, survivors, and concerned citizens will participate in educational programs and fundraising events in an effort to raise awareness of the prevalence and effects of domestic abuse, to impress the need for prevention, and to remember those who have been victimized by abuse.
